Monterrey Cafe - Weslaco

Being Chicano I am vouching for this place for the best menudo I've come across at a restaurant. The meat was cooked to perfection! The broth had just the right flavor. For some reason I had to ask for cilantro and oregano but they brought it to mepromptly. The corn tortillas were certainly made fresh. Topped a big bowl off with a barbacoa taco. It's always a good sign whenthere is a line of people waiting to get in and most of them are elderly! I will come to this Cafe every time I am in town now.Loved the small hole in the wall experience. This place is nice and friendly clean and warm. Not to big especially the parking but it's because everyone want to come and eat here I presume. They realy need a second location I think if the have the same service they do good.

Friendly staff, mixed Fajita Nachos were good, but could have been better because beef Fajitas were burned a bit and chicken was overly seasoned. But will definitely go back to try more items. The menu has a wide selection of Mexican food, roasted chicken, chicken fried steak and burger.
