Wenger Alpenhof - Werfenweng

We came across this hotel for an overnight stay on our journey to Croatia. We didn't have a great choice of hotels in the area as it was out of season. As we arrived late the restaurant was closed but the staff kindly made us sandwiches. The room we had was very clean but extremely dated. When you consider it was out of season, €115 for a room, breakfast 2 sandwiches isn't exactly cheap. Breakfast was very good indeed. When we came to check out we were told cash only as the card machine wasn't working, this has happened to us before in Austria Germany. The hotel has parking close by is only a few kilometers from the motorway.

We would not get there especially. But if you're in the area and are looking to eat local food, it's a great place. Great Austrian schnitzel! Delicious local soups (especially the garlic soup and the pancake soup, we did not like the goulash at all) Most of all we enjoyed the Kaiserschmarrn. (A local dessert of shredded pancakes. A bit strange, but fun and super comforting)

They place was very nice! In the middle of the town! Very clean, good food, good breakfast! The staff also very friendly! Mutlu was the best! Greetings from the Spanish Family : :

It's a good restaurant down on the ski slopes. Very convenient for the short lunch break between the ski lessons. The staff is really fast.

During our stay in Werfenwengen we visited this restaurant. Not as culinary as the restaurants in Vienna were we stayed before. But we were surprised by the vegetarian dinner. Good taste and value for money.the wonderful weather did the rest.
