Bidra med feedbackThe Inn is a nice place so should be a great experience. However the breakfast on the two occasions I’ve eaten there have been poor. The quality and taste doesn’t live up to the menus description. Granola Bowl was unexciting and fruit blend was bland. French toast should have come with ‘fruits of the forest’ the only forest fruit may have been blueberries (but they don’t grow there) NO blackberries, raspberries ETC. The ‘whipped lemon Mozzarella’ was a dry mozzarella ball with lemon rind. NO sign of any whipping going on. Sounded like it should have been light and fluffy. It WASN’T! Also the candied pecan was basically rock candy too hard to cut or even bite for fear of loosing a tooth or hitting another table in the crossfire. Eggs Benedict had hard yolked eggs, the Muffins where uninspired and the hollandaise didn’t have any zing or fresh taste. Previously I had an ‘American ’inspired bacon and pancake stack that was pancakes and floppy (non-crisp) bacon stacked in alternate layers. ANYONE who has had pancakes and Maple syrup stack in North American would not expect this. At best it would be crispy bacon on the side. I can only assume whoever running the menu/kitchen on that shift just reads a menu and tries to imagine what that might be like and mimics it without ACTUALLY knowing what it SHOULD be. As lovely as the staff and place ARE, I couldn’t go back for food
This is a little find which was great had breakfast early worth every penny. Would recommend highly .the staff and food and service was great.
Lovely welcome lovely service very nicely decorated Team were welcoming and friendly Service was very efficient our food took no time at all The only reason I scored a 4 and not a 5 was because I thought it was too expensive Two cheese and chutney sour dough sandwiches with a few mixed leaves Two fish finger sandwiches served the same. The sour dough was absolutely gorgeous but it was so small There was 1 jumbo fish finger cut in half and that was it £9 it was delicious but not enough The bill for 4 small sandwiches two bowls of skinny fries, 3 cokes and one cider £57
The food and service were excellent. Our waitress Michelle was very attentive. Would highly recommend this pub/restaurant.
3 of us booked a table before going to watch Charlton play Stevenage…what a good choice we made! 2 x Cod and Chips with Onion Rings and 1 x Pie and Mash were all cooked superbly.. the batter on the fish was as good as I’ve ever had..good choices of lager/cider also went down well.. our server, Kayla, was charming, knowledgeable and good fun.. one final point.. the Onion Rings were off the scale!
