The new Fusion Cuisine in Wellington that you were waiting for !! I know it's hard to think about a new place to go and something different to try, so i can assure you that this is the answer !! Amazing cocktails, great wine, and delicious food !! From starters to dessert everything HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
Was in Wellington this week for work staying at the Hilton Double Tree. Normally a bit dubious about checking out hotel restaurants however decided to give this a go. Man was i impressed. The service was pretty top quality and the food was light, flavourful and really warming. I walked about feeling satisfied with my meal. They have a very well priced menu and wine range (again very surprised by this normally over the top charges . I had my entree and main out pretty quickly. I followed with breakfast the next morning which was a bit of a let down compared to the evening priors experience. Although a buffet some things were cold and the selection wasn't huge... it felt more like an Airline lounge breakfast. Dinner was $80 including wine, and breakfast $35 with a flat white (which was cold...
This next level class and style, it's actually the restaurant for the hotel Double Tree by Hilton, so to find it you gotta to upstairs from the Hotel lobby, and the first thing you'll notice is how damn nice and friendly all the staff are all the way from the entrance to the actual restaurant. The ambience here was perfect when we visited. Because it was so new, there weren't many visitors so it felt we owned the floor! Even with others, the seating inside is well spaced well so you won't ever feel cramped. I would sit by the bar side tables if you can with a small group, something about it just oozes that old school high roller feel, super posh. Food here is also pretty top notch, we only got the pizza but damn it was a nice pizza, not a burnt piece in sight, well cooked and flavoured, exceptional. The drinks is where this place really shined for us, oh the choices, so many choices, we didn't know what we wanted so just asked the bartender to make us something with a citrus and sweet flavour and he came up with a pretty slick drink which looked the part and tasted even better. So overall, the experience here was epic, we were staying at the double tree so it make it that much more convenient, but even if you weren't, it's located in a super central part of town so it's worth considering for your next night out!
Staying at the hotel, I dropped in for a bite to eat on a busy Friday evening. They looked busy and I hadn’t booked, so I wasn’t too hopeful for getting a table. I was grateful that the helpful team were able to accommodate me, and I didn’t feel at all rushed to finish my light meal. I ordered the eggplant with a side of vegetables. Both dishes sounded interesting on the menu; however, I regret that their taste was underwhelming. The eggplant, though dressed beautifully, was oddly oily and bland. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, but also bland. I enjoyed the ambiance and professional service of the restaurant, and I might return when staying next to try their breakfast.
