Bidra med feedbackTerribly slow service in the cafe. Absolutely appalling. The staff were just chatting away and working at snails pace as if there wasn’t a big queue. It was almost painful to watch and I nearly left the line. A man from the floor came to help and he was very speedy which was refreshing to see. I get that you may be short staffed but I still feel this is no excuse for the completely relaxed attitude of the staff. And not even one person apologised for the wait. The food is good as always though.
The Pausa brand is nothing to write home about. Perfectly ok for a snack and they general get star rating according to their staff. Food (soup teacake) with drinks filled a gap when we were visiting the shop. Food ok and staff just a bit better than normal but the ambiance just doesn't create a good impression it's almost as if they have shoehorned Pausa into a tiny corner. Would use it again but not rushing back to do so
I visited the Pausa Coffee shop with my husband. We arrived at 9am, as soon as the store opened. We went up to the coffee shop and there was no-one behind the counter. I sat at a table and my husband waited at the counter. By 9.08am no-one had appeared so I went back downstairs and spoke to a lady at the door. She called through to someone on her headset and said they were out the back and someone would be with us soon. I went back upstairs and sat down at the table again. A short time after, a woman started walking into the cafe and said Good God have you wet the bed? I was so shocked I didn 't respond and she then started muttering that she never had time to do anything and wished the cafe still opened at 10am. My husband paid for two drinks and two bacon baps and then sat down. She came over with the drinks and said I can 't bring you a spoon because of Covid, you need to get your own which is fair enough and my husband got up and got a spoon. However, she then brought over the bacon baps, went back to the cutlery and brought a knife to the table saying just in case you want to spread the sauce . There is either a Covid rule or there isn 't??!! I have written a complaint, but have yet to receive a response. It 's a great shame because the bacon baps were lovely but I don 't expect to be spoken to in the manner we were and it has put me off from returning.
Came in today to have a coffee, waited at the counter and the lady behind stood in front of me making drinks, I waited for quite while and she didn't even acknowledge that I was there. I understand she was perhaps busy, although there were only two tables with people on and I was the only one at the counter but she stood in front of me and blatantly ignored me, she could have acknowledged me at least and said I won't be a minute. Not even eye contact, very rude. Left without purchasing and went to m &s where the service was excellent.
So I visited the cafe yesterday with my 11 month old son to escape the rain and have a coffee but sadly have to say I left very upset. My son is active and loves people and like all babies he doesn’t understand and does not want to just sit in a high chair at all times. I was told by a member of staff to CONTROL my son because he took a liking to the kitchen door. I wouldn’t mind but I kept picking him up and taking him back so he was not in the way and they could see that. I also when I arrived told a member of staff that he isn’t one for staying still for long so I asked be seated out of the way. I have to say I won’t be back and think that they should state that babies and children need to be seated at ALL times and under no circumstances can they move. Unless coming in or leaving
