It doesn't matter what kind.... but if you get one with the cherry whips, do it. You're great. Steak Subs are very good. Meatballs and sausages are super delicious. The Italian is the most popular but and it is excellent.
A fixed part for a fixed price. $10 for a big one, most normal people would eat only 1/2. I wanted to order the special, but today's employee suggested the Italian. Good move! The paprika and onions were at the top. The fact that this place has Zapp's chips already gives them points in my book. A point of satisfaction. The bread I had today was nothing unusual. Not bad in any way, but nothing life changes like other reviews seemed to believe.
Dude...dude...dude. Okay, now that I calmed down, just remembering that the sky was sent sub-, lemme esplain. There are good subs, great subs, and then epic subs. What makes a sub-epic? Is it the fresh bread and the filling? Is it the quality of the ingredients mentioned? Yeah, and one more element. The inexplicable. These subs are epic. Inexplicable. You have to taste to really know. You must be a sandwich expert. Eat.
A friend recommended this little place. I was back to Houston and took a sample of her subs to share with a buddy. We both agreed they were excellent. Good value. Bread was good. All in all, a place I would like to go back to. Here is a photo of the typical sub of them. Talking to staff, they confirmed that they roast their own beef. You actually do it in one of these Otis Spunkmeyer biscuits, as you see in convenience stores. As it turns out, the temperature is exactly right, and the size is right so that they roast their beef and pork. Who knew it? Update July 2015. A second visit. This time, just 'the regular...big'. The combination of meat, bread, vinegar dressing, hot chili was almost a religious experience. I had ordered the big one to eat half. But when a trained rat gave something irresistible, something that did not stop eating, I robbed the entire sandwich. Guilty. I've met other diners who stole the cheese-plug sandwich. And seeing them, I know that there will soon be a visit to Antoninis.
I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the best Italian subs I have ever had. They are huge, very fresh and delicious. Holding one of these subs makes me feel like a lion holding a gazelle...
