Glass Onion Weaverville, Nc

We were visiting from Houston and San Francisco where there are great restaurants and thought Glass Onion in Weaverville would be a good choice. It was the worse meal I had in the Ashville area. The special Sunday night was veal which was so tough that I could barely cut it and so tough that I could not eat it. I love pear and beet salad but the pear was hard as a brick. We have dined a few times before at the Glass Onion. It is consistently great food. On this visit the Pear and Beet Salad was excellent. The Diver Scallops over a tasty Polenta was excellent. The Bolognese over angel hair pasta was hearty and delicious. Consistently great dining venue. I can 't review the food as we never made it to a table. The hostess was very rude. Sure, we didn 't have a reservation, but it was more of a looking over the end of her nose as a you 're not welcome here that was received, as we ran in out of torrential rains to try this restaurant as out-of-towners. Very good overall experience. would have loved some light music in which were whipped but eating and service were great
