Laverne's Place - Waynesburg

Laverne's restaurant, the perfect stop for home cooking and great desserts. Located between Waynesburg and Jefferson, on the Pennsylvania Route 188, very close to the intersection with the state route 221. A simple access from the Ruff Creek exit (exit 19) of Interstate 79 makes this place convenient for areas such as Washington. A fairly large restaurant with a lot of seating, including a counter for the fast bite. The decor is a little dated, but I think that only adds the charm of the decor. However, it is incredibly clean and well maintained. An excellent place to take the children, as the family-friendly atmosphere almost feel you are in Grandmas dining room. My family has been eating here for decades and I never had a bad experience. The food is always fresh, hot and delivered with a smile, with many options on the menu to also please the most picky of the eater. This visit was for Thanksgiving dinner, and everything was delicious. Pieces are freshly baked daily and young sell them. My personal favorite for Dessert is the apple dumplings with ice. The emptying is served hot and the ice melts slowly as you nibble. Also some of the best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of consumption. For friendly service, excellent food and very fair prices, make the trip to Laverne. The ride is worthwhile in Washington, Green and Fayette. You'll be glad!

We were pleasantly surprised by the change there. It looks so beautiful. The food was great. The waitresses are helpful, friendly and make yourself family. The overall improvements will often leave us back!

We are from the state and stay not far away from the restaurant and we noticed that it was always very busy so we decided to try it and we were not disappointed! Good food at a great price and super service We will definitely go back!

This place is so special to my family for years we have been eating here my grandmother and all her daughters my mom and aunts we came an get together sometimes for breakfast sometimes lunch or dinner it's just good regardless my grandmother and 2 of my aunts are gone now and we make it a point to go to cemetery and place flowers and decorate them for whatever holiday occasion and we go get something to eat after to me this place is more than good home cooked foods it's 20+ years and years of laughter and memories that was made in this restaurant
