Bidra med feedbackI first have to say that someone else in our 6 person party secured the table by the front door and in front of the check-in stand. But second, do not sit there unless you feel like enduring a constant stream of customers breathing down your neck and on your food. It 's also loud. Incredibly loud. I couldn 't wait to get out of there. We hadn 't seen each other in some time and this was a special gathering. I hadn 't dined at Campuzano 's in some time either and apparently it continues to be a pretty popular place. Our waiter was exceptional. I 've posted photos of four of the six dishes that landed at our table. The chimichanga $14.99) and beef enchilada $9.99) were well received with the oil can sized chimichanga wolfed down by my grandson. The beef enchilada was declared good, and pretty typical by my granddaughter. The ultimate Nachos, called World Famous by Campuzanos, are $21; but the platter is enormous and could feed four people. My son had it as an entree and left about 25% uneaten. My husband 's sister had the Chicken taco salad $12.99) and didn 't eat all of it either and said it was good. Honestly. I couldn 't get much more out of her. It was so loud in this anteroom, we could hardly hold a conversation. As for my shrimp dish, Shrimp Tejupilco, grilled jumbo shrimp on a bed of rice with charro beans and guacamole $20.99); it all looked a little anemic, but tasted better than it looked. There were four butterflied grilled shrimp with a Spicy rub and Spanish rice underneath. The shrimp was a little dry and I ate all of it with salsa including the tablespoon of guacamole. The pale charro beans lacked depth and needed a little more umph, too. That salsa did have kick. Liked that. I also ordered a side of sauteed zucchini that was perfectly cooked and terrific with the rice. And while I 'm talking salsa, why does any restaurant bring busted up chips to the table? I do mean most of them in the basket? We had virtually unlimited salsa come our way, though. That was wonderful. The Pechuga a la Parilla $16.99) was pronounced awesome by my spouse. A breast of grilled chicken topped with monterrey jack cheese; it was served on a bed of rice with guacamole and charro beans, too. Tender juicy chicken apparently. Yum. There was lots of parking in a half concrete half gravel lot that faced a gorgeous patio with lots of tables. In nice weather, that 's where I would want to sit. West of the patio is a beautiful shady tree filled lot. May they never cut that down.
I'm giving this place a 4, as we could sit outside with grandkids. They had a ball running around. Server was Cipriano, but he didn't smile nor tell us his name. He did get our drinks in a timely manner and everything we ordered was correct. The Rita's were just ok. We had the queso dip, not bad, flautas beef, my sister loved them. Fajitas for 2 beef with leftovers. Kids had quesadilla and there was chip and salsa.
I came here with a party of seven and we were seated pretty quickly. We were seated out on the patio, which was really nice in the evening. We got some chips and salsa right away and also ordered some guacamole. Our drinks took a while to get and when they did come out waiter spilled them all over my cousin. It was mostly water, but it was still pretty bad, but kinda funny. My cousin took it like a champ though and our waiter was very apologetic. I wasn't very hungry and had a bit of a stomach ache when we had dinner here so I just got the chicken tortilla soup. I expected it to be pretty average, but it was actually really good. Lots of cheese, chicken and tortillas in it, even for just a cup of soup. Overall we had a good dinner here.
Ok, I thought the service was great. My nachos were massive. This could honestly feed a family of four. Needless to say I could not finish it. I thought the beef was a bit tough however. I like the meat to be tender and not have to chew for a minute to get it down. Overall l, I thought there was good flavor, but the guacamole was very bland. I realize I just focusing on negative things. The positive the Chips stayed crunchy and did not get soggy which is a definite plus! The dish came out hot which I also appreciated. Overall, after thinking on it, I give it a 7.9 out of 10.
Easy to order. Once I pulled in I witnessed three different car accidents so I was glad to get there safely. People were enjoying indoor and outdoor dining. The front desk immediately asked for my name and looked for my order. We found my order and I was able to pay and sign for my food. They also gave me chips and salsa along with the order. The restaurant has a seaside theme throughout and the lighting was seem inside while the exterior was bright and sunny with low level music playing
