Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I visited with 3 friends for a quiet evening meal and catch up. We had booked a table, but when we arrived at the restaurant many of the tables were empty. We were put on a table next to a party of about 12 people. This might have been ok but the party got quite loud. In hindsight we should have asked for another table when we arrived. After we had eaten our main course, which was very tasty, the staff offered to move us to a quieter table and we could finally have a conversation. Maybe the restaurant staff could consider filling tables further from parties when they are not full
This restaurant was a huge disappointment. We were excited for a takeaway and spent a long time discussing what to order, only to find that the food was lacking in quality. The tikka masala tasted like Heinz tomato soup, with a watery thin sauce and overall poor taste. The saag paneer only had 2 pieces of cheese and was overpowered by garlic. We even found 3 hairs in our food that did not belong to us. After spending nearly £140 on a takeaway for 8 people, we felt like we would have been better off with a supermarket microwave meal. The only redeeming dish was the lamb madras, which was tolerable. We will not be returning to this restaurant. Two stars.
Before visiting the restaurant, I checked their online menu and decided on ordering a meat Madras for £8.75. However, when I arrived, I discovered that the menu was limited and the Madras was not listed. Upon asking about it, I was informed that they could still prepare it for me, although the waiter kept calling it a special curry. Despite my attempts to clarify that I simply wanted a Madras and not a special curry, the waiter seemed to struggle with understanding English. Reluctantly, I agreed to the special curry, which turned out to be similar to a Madras but was charged at £15.50 instead of the original price. It became apparent that this was a deceptive practice, hence the constant referring to it as a special curry. I have no intention of returning to this restaurant.
As a self-proclaimed curry aficionado, I must say that this was one of the best Indian meals I have had in years! The Tava Chicken was made with fresh spices and packed with madras heat, while the Keema Naan was absolutely delicious. The flavors were amazing and the level of chili was just perfect. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant. The staff were also excellent. Highly recommended!
Visit Rania often. Repeated visits because the food is consistently great and the service is excellent. The Lahore lamb is not on any other menus I know and is so tasty. They will adjust an order to suit like we want to order eg garlic rice. Generally the staff are very friendly, and the manager Shahab is most convivial.
