The Flying Dutchman - Waveney

Been coming here one and off for years. The Thursday night quiz is great and has become really popular it is a good atmosphere and think that this is a real strength. We were also pleasantly surprised by the food! I had never eaten here, but wanted alternatives to the expensive and overrated Moss Co. pubs (like Jolly Sailors etc. Ordered mushroom stroganoff and chicken/pulled pork burger from the specials menu they were both very tasty and great value at £10.95 each. The wait was a little long, but it was worth it and so I will definitely return here for drinks and food.

I went on Sunday for a roast. I liked the meal it was nice but we waited a long time and there didn’t appear to be many people in the place. I thought the non meat version was pretty good but my plate looked pretty empty compared to the other people I was with. I would have thought that because they had to take certain food off my plate like the stuffing for some reason they could have replaced it with more of the other things. The staff were nice though but long waiting times. Would go again.

Visited today with My family for the first time. Staff were very friendly welcoming. The roast dinner was delicious presented nicely. The food was served nice hot lots of extra gravy. The desserts were yummy too. Bex was brilliant. Will be visiting again.

This restaurant is thriving. It is clear to me that the bar staff, Functions Manageress, and the landlord are all that a good pub needs. I had previously booked the Barn Function room to host a reception buffet and celebrate a christening at the local church. The Landlord quickly realized that I had no idea how to organize such an event, so the planning was taken out of my hands and handled by the team. I was very impressed with the plentiful food, excellent presentation, and superbly decorated function room. All the guests enjoyed the atmosphere and were very complimentary about the gathering, which was a huge relief for me. Congratulations to the team at The Flying Dutchman. Thank you.

We had our wedding reception at The Barn on September 16th. The staff went above and beyond for us, especially Becks who arranged the venue setup and the food was incredible! I highly recommend The Flying Dutchman to anyone looking for exceptional service and experience for any type of celebration. Thank you all so much for everything, you are amazing!
