Bidra med feedbackReally enjoyed the dinner, atmosphere and staff. What a jewel in downtown Waukegan. Had Taco dinner, 1/2 dozen oysters, guacamole, fiesta gourmet and a cabrito en hoja de plantano. Very good. The extensive menu. Very recommended.
All the good vibes in downtown Waukegan are here. I'm not sure if I'm the one, but I just want to get up and dance when I visit here. Great food and music and I always feel welcomed by the host with the long black hair (sorry I don't know your name! I've had many dishes but we love the enchiladas with mole and the fish tacos and your salsa and homemade tortillas are fire! Highly recommend!
Food is good but the waitress forgot to bring us the chips and salsa to begin. Other members brought us the food and we didn't see her until the end when we were done. She pick up the plates and that was it. Another waitress had to bring us the check. Waitress could maybe do 1 or 2 check up through the meal
Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Very good selection of dishes and drinks. Service was great. Handmade Maistortillas. Clean. Exotic dishes. I came for the mole.
We visited La Casa de Samuel on a whim, we went to the Genesee Theater for a concert and needed a place to serve us quickly. We went to a packed house (theaters and locals) and asked if they could take time frames. They were very gracious, set us, served us chips and salsa (holy cow) and took our orders together with their recommendations! Put your hands down, the best hispanic food I ever had! Everything was fresh and qualitative. I had eggs a chorizo and my wife had sopes! Everything was fantastic. The best beans ever! We're looking for another chance to return to La Casa de Samuel. We live in St. Louis and can't wait to come back to Chicago!
