Evangelo's Restaurant - Wasilla

I came here with a group if 14. We had reservation. No waiting. I ordered the broiled halibut. Delicious but not wild about the squash as vegetables. My fault. Should have asked for substitution. The pizza that was ordered by another person in the group looked delicious. I would have taken him up on the offer for a slice but I was so full. It looked like they were short handed but I had no complaints at all.

My wife and I stopped at Evangelo's for lunch and were delighted with the atmosphere, food and the good service. For a classy restaurant, the prices were quite reasonable. The entrées were scrumptious and generous. We would recommend Evangelo's.

My wife and I, along with two other couples while on vacation, were referred to this restaurant by our B&B. Arrived at 7:30 pm and it was immediately clear the host and other staff person at the entrance did not want us there, giving us a long wait time to be seated even though they were not busy. While waiting, the bar person was short and unfriendly. Charged my credit card $94 for a $54 tab, which I had to point out and resolve!!!!! The food and server was really great. They started the electric sweeper though during our meal, obviously wanting to close. Closing time was 9:00!!!! This was overall a bad experience and will inform the B&B. A shout out to the server and cooks though.

We were kinda lost, hungry. We saw this place, mid afternoon, good crowd, looked promising, I ordered sausage grinder, it was awesome. I was even more impressed that they chilled the salad plates. It's about the details. The ceasar salad was top notch. Good service. My wife got a gyro, which you don't do at an Italian place, she didn't like it.

Our group of nine had dinner here and service was very poor. Eight of us received our meals together but we had to search for our server to find out where the final meal was. My halibut came out overcooked and the vegetables were cold. If I was by myself the meal would be sent back but you could not find a staff person to complain to.
