Jam Doung Style - Washington DC

Let me start off by saying the atmosphere was welcoming the lady who greeted me was sweet. But honestly that was the only two things that was good about this place. I ordered Jerk wings and it was the worst wings I ever got that sauce is not jerk as a Jamaican that sauce was offensive. The chicken was baked I'm used to having it grill as my family grills it and 99% of the Jamaican stores in NYC grills their Jerk as well. I believe because they baked it, the chicken just tasted dry and rubbery. And I do think they know this that’s why they drown the chicken with sauce. Mac Cheese was blah didn’t care too much for it, it lacked flavor cheese. Oxtail had the right level of spice but the spice to seasoning ratio was totally off. HOWEVER, the Oxtail was falling off the bone so it was cooked right. After all that the food was a 2/5. Would I ever recommend ? Definitely not. Food is banging. The perfect amount of heat and spice for me. The staff are lovely.

The food was really good. The service was spot on for a Jamaican spot IYKYK . Definitely a go to spot when I'm back in DC

I loved everything about this restaurant. I ordered jerk chicken, ox tails, and king fish. They also had Jamaican black cake. Taste like a chocolate fruit cake! Great food!

First time, but not the last. Food was amazing, and priced right. I got the Med. Oxtail Plate w/rice Beans Cabbage. Will definitely be back soon! Thank You
