Bidra med feedbackGreat bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Best in the area!
I knew we were going out of town, so i looked up the only bakery i could find in town. Chesapeake Donut is a cute donut shop off Main Street in Warsaw Va. They sell breakfast and lunch sandwiches, donuts, frappes, coffee, and etc. We were greeted when we walked in. The cashier was nice. They had a display of donuts but only select ones were available. They were out of regular glazed donuts for the day and churro. The donuts are a little pricey if your not getting plain donuts or if you buy a dozen, but its reasonable i guess for a few. They had strawberry frosted (The Homer Simpson), pumpkin, maple bacon, chocolate peanut, plain cake unglazed, lemon, birthday cake and powdered sugar. I got maple bacon, pumpkin, and an oreo frappe for about $13. The donuts are seriously dry for some reason, but the dough had good flavor. The maple bacon donut tasted good, but i wish it was glazed or something to not make it so dry. But this was the best out of what we got. The pumpkin donut had a slight flavor of pumpkin and was a cake donut. Meh... The birthday cake donut tasted nothing like birthday cake. I wasn't a fan, it was very heavy. The strawberry donut looked awesome, but wasn't. It didn't really have any flavor. The idea of the donuts is cool. Kinda like duck donuts with fun toppings, but these are made ahead of time. So they weren't fresh. They weren't horrible or anything, just not my favorite. The oreo frappe was chocolate milk consistency. It was ultra loose and if I'm honest tasted like Ensure with a weird chalky taste. The other flavors may be better if they have coffee in them. This had oreo crumbs on top but didn't taste like an oreo in any way. I'm just happy they have donuts in the area. But I'll probably try the breakfast sandwiches next time I'm there. Since they serve breakfast items they close pretty early. I think by 2pm... But just because it wasn't for me doesn't mean others won't like it... Check them out!!
We were visiting the area and got one dozen donuts for breakfast. I ordered 3 maple bacon, 3 Samoa, 3 churro and 3 glazed old fashioned. I got the 3 old fashioned then one each of 9 other kinds of donuts. The kids didn't care and I got to sample the ones I did order since there was one of each. The cake type donuts had an odd texture and were just ok. The maple bacon had a wet glaze and were chewy and small for a glazed donut. Very expensive and underwhelming.
Absolutely love this place! The people who work there are so nice and the doughnuts are amazingly delicious. The coffee is brewed perfectly as well. They now serve lunch too. My daughter cant wait to go to get her doughnuts. Great work treat too or to bring to brunch. They are worth every bite and its nice to have a gourmet bakery in beautiful tidewater cities.
Very nice place. My sister and I purchased a dozen comprised of maple bacon, birthday cake, Boston creme, and chocolate sprinkles. Donuts were excellent and the store employees were friendly. Glad this place exists!
