Bidra med feedbackBooked a table then cancelled unfortunately but I was told there wasn’t a booking! Thank god we didn’t turn up thinking there was a table for us. New management very rude on phone too, so I’ll say thanks but no thanks I’ll be spending my well earned money else where.
3/10 Not the restaurant it once was I only just discovered the restaurant has changed hands and they clearly haven’t been able to keep the same standard that the place had before. the owner wouldn’t allow the waitresses to take food orders, we had to wait for him. As a result we waited 30minutes for our order to be taken. He needs to give his staff some more responsibility as two of the ladies would be more than capable of taking orders from customers. the prawn starter was bland and over the top, the garnishes added no flavour French onion soup was like a chutney and barely has any cheese on top. the steak was asked to be cooked medium and it came out rare, no steak knife was provided. the calves liver was okay, nothing special the 2 waitresses in black were hard to understand and it was as though they didn't understand what we were asking , however the two waitresses in white were amazing and had a lovely way about them. My point is, this isn’t worth the £50 a head it costs for 3 courses, so much so, we left without dessert and just decided to but one in Sainsbury's. It would take a lot to drag me back there to give it a second chance. I could make better food myself at home. Hopefully they improve, the meals I had at the old restaurant were some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The new owners really need to step it up.
New ownership obviously has not kept up the high standards. Terrible food at a standard you would expect from a pub and not a high end restaurant. Starter was so bad I sent it back despite it being the house speciality . Followed by poor and defensive service. A sober and extremely disappointing experience. The management claim to want feedback but frankly act more like they prefer payment. Service: 1

A fabulous restaurant that has now changed hands. I'll review again after the new owner has settled in. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet
