Bidra med feedbackGreat scones (ask for the blackberry jam if they have it), absolutely loved the rhubarb and cream tea, and fantastic service definitely worth visiting for afternoon tea!
Service was fast and came with a smile, I asked about the specials and got a friendly answer. We had a lasagne, satay chicken pot pie and a pumpkin, potato and bacon soup. The pie was delicious and creamy with a puff pastry top, lasagne was quite delicious and meaty, both served with a colourful side salad and a choice of two dressings on the table to self serve which is always a bonus. soup was slightly bland (the root veggies maybe needed a little roasting with butter first and the bread served was supermarket sliced loaf. We would have paid extra for some fresh local bread if it was available. The staff was very cordial and understanding of our two preschoolers. We had two serves of scones which were light and fluffy, served with incredible home made jams that I would have bought had they been on offer in the shop (perhaps have it on offer at the counter? . The cream was more dense than fluffy but that made it even better. Good value prices making it accessible for locals and tourists. The shop offered everything that a paths work quilter would need including kits. We paid just over $70 and all four of us were fully fed and very happy. The amount of staff put on was perfect for the demand. With a little bit more passion for local produce, such as including fresh local bread or attention to detail in flavour, and this place would have got 5/5 from me. I'd definitely come again, it has the potential for becoming the jewel of the Yarra valley.
Disappointing! Placed order (vegi) which was given to another table, given the other table's food (non-vegi), took the food to the till and they blamed me for ordering the wrong thing! No apology!
Cute and homely cafe. A cute and homely little cafe where an abundance of Quilting and patchwork is on display and for sale in addition to the meals provided. We had the devonshire tea, which arrived with two scones and some beautiful homemade raspberry jam. The cosy and warm atmosphere definitely made up for the dreary day outside. I am looking forward to returning and trying the lunch menu, which looked decently portioned and tasty.
