Fresh Prawns. I have loved eating fresh prawns on the coast for the last 30 years. I have been told that those days were gone and all prawns these days are frozen. I was advised by a friend in the fishing industry to contact Paul from Pt Cartwright Seafoods. I am so glad I did as I got 2 kgs of the best prawns I have ever tasted. We also had a seafood platter that was fresh and good value. I can't wait to go back.
$10 worth of chips said to feed 4-5 people! the box wasn't even full! my 3 children polished it in 5mins, hubby and I didn't even get! I asked the employee: “Are you sure this is the $10 pack that is supposed to feed 5 people?” she said: “Yes, it is the $10” and went away. most places at least fill or fill them when they use them!
$7 of chips. Disappointing. Go and have a look at Wurtulla Seafoods as comparison. Absolute no value for money.
The most expensive chips and gravy I have ever ordered. chick on the phone didn't know how much the minimum chips was and had to either go at look at the menu or ask someone else. looking at the price of other things on the menu once I got there I was so glad that I didn't ordered anything else. chips were under cooked. gravy was microwaved so long that the container it was in was starting to melt. I asked for chicken salt and not sure what they actually put on it but it was neither chicken salt nor regular salt. place smelt unlike any other seafood market I've ever been to, was almost just going to walk back out and go somewhere else but it was after 7pm and didn't know if by the time I looked up another place if they would still be taking orders or not. wont be back ever.
