Bidra med feedbackThis is a full south Indian (or sri lankan) type menu. Perfect if you want traditional (south) indian food as the restaurant have not westernised their menu and keep true to their roots. It 's so refreshing to have a change from the weak British Indian flavours at most india takeaeways. You can find proper dishes that are genuinely popular in India like Hyderabadi biriani, rasam, egg kotthu paratha or dosa. If you haven 't eaten south Indian food before I recommend you try out the thali (meal) which for £10 comes with a wide range of different dishes you can try out. The venue is small and personal if you eat in. However as takeaway portion sizes are good, this resturant is our favourite takeaway. My husband is south Indian and it 's the only place in Waltham Forest where he finds the flavours of food authentic
Went for a colleagues leaving lunch. Terrible food, salty, stale and took over an hour to come. Disgusting.
I have a great fondness for this restaurant and have visited it numerous times. Despite being temporarily closed for some issues, I remained loyal and returned. The cuisine is authentically South Indian, as evidenced by the number of Indian and Sri Lankan families who frequent the establishment. The dishes are quite spicy and the menu can be a bit overwhelming. The Masala Dosa is particularly outstanding, and the Thali is also very tasty. Unfortunately, the staff never appear to be very cheerful, which is disappointing. I hope that the restaurant is now back on track.
A few years ago, we used to receive excellent restaurant service with all the standard settings, but sadly, my last few visits have been terrible. The restaurant now resembles a greasy spoon cafe. The tablecloth used to be clean and double-layered, but now it's dirty. The glassware is cheap and unwashed, and only recycled paper napkins are provided. The cutlery is cheap and poorly set, and the food no longer stays warm due to the lack of a food warmer. The waiting time is long, and the staff seem untrained and unengaged. The ambiance and romantic vibes have disappeared, and the floor is dirty. The reduction in staff seems to be a cost-cutting measure, but it may cost the restaurant dearly in the long run. Despite the great taste of the food, the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant are poor. The owner should take this criticism as constructive feedback and work on improving the specified areas. As a professional in the industry, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The potential is there, being possibly the only South Indian restaurant in Walthamstow, but improvements are necessary to retain customers and compete effectively.
I enjoy the food at this restaurant, with large portions of authentic and well-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. However, their take-away service can be a bit distracting and may result in long wait times for food when dining in the restaurant. While I have had some fantastic meals here, there have been instances where I grew impatient waiting for my food, ultimately paying for my drinks and leaving. It's a shame because the potential for greatness is there.
