The Rose Crown - Wakefield

We went to the sculpture park, but did not want to eat in their cafeteria. we saw the pub at the autobahn island (post office,) but that was busy (and looked expensive) so decided to push down the road to look for somewhere else. we came across this place and took a chance. it was a Sunday afternoon and I must say it was a good sound. they were recently renovated and has the usual sports screens. but we only wanted to eat lunch and had their Sunday dinner (only £6.95) that was well cooked and much of it. they have recently been freshly cooked so that all veg etc. was fresh. the staff was great! very friendly, helpful, chatting and funny. will be back

Dined here on 27th feb had the steak night deal very busy but lanaged excellently cant fault it one bit food excellent staff well organized wood highly recommend

We often frequent this restaurant on Saturday nights and had planned to take advantage of the steak offer last night (two steak meals and a bottle of wine for £19.95). We had dined here before the new owners or managers took over and had a good experience. We had also noticed many couples enjoying the deal over the Valentine's weekend. Our plan was to try it again last night and have our friends come from Leeds next Saturday to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary with the same deal. However, when my husband went to order the food, he was told that they could not offer the deal to us due to a large party dining in the restaurant, despite menus being on the tables. It seems they need more staff or staff who do not panic so easily. I am extremely disappointed by their attitude and believe they will lose a lot of business due to this poor decision.

We boked a birthday event.as friends we knew had been to parties there...We arrived 30 mins before the the birthday girl as this was to be a surprise...They had double booked and there were people fom another party in our selected area...This caused tention on...both parties and the manager was totaly stressed out. We cleaned our tables and asked for the buffet to be brought out .The buffet was plain and average to say the least...very dissapointing..

No idea where to start, but not going again. I was drinking this coke, I thought, but after checking my sugar I didn't find it. in the next round I saw after the order and the dame poured me full of fat koks. When I told her, she changed to die in the middle as if it were okay. I'm diabetic and it's not okay. the renter is also very rude and what was a great pub when I was younger. is far from it now.
