Jolly's - Wakefield

It has been some time since I last visited this small cafe, but I was greeted with the same warm welcome as always. Despite its size, this cafe excels in service and serves outstanding food. On this chilly winter morning, I decided to order the ham and cheese toastie and tomato soup from the specials board. Though I am unsure of the exact price, I estimated it to be around £5. The homemade soup was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the toastie, filling me up and warming me for the day ahead.

I stopped by this charming cafe for a quick drink, but ended up staying for lunch - it was delightful! The staff were attentive and friendly, and I will definitely return when I'm back in Yorkshire. The decor was fabulous, the service fantastic, and the atmosphere was great.

I stopped by for a cup of tea and a cake while waiting for my husband. I requested the tea to go in case I had to leave quickly, and that was no problem. I ended up getting a delicious coconut jam sponge cake and fruit and nut tiffin to take with me. When my husband arrived, we decided to stay for lunch. We tried the special, which was a slow-cooked pulled pork sub with stuffing and apple sauce, sautéed potatoes, and a side of gravy. It was much better than other pulled pork subs I've had before, very tasty and tender. The man at the register was enthusiastic about explaining how the pork was cooked, which was nice to hear. I didn't realize there was seating upstairs until I went up to use the restroom, so there is plenty of seating and good service. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I was just passing through. I would definitely come back if I had the chance.

A nice intimate cafe with extra seating upstairs. Table service with a smile. Food choices limited but good and cakes are excellent. Nice to see gluten free menus and not just the cake but bread as well. Dietary requests are happily dealt with. Excellent cuppa.

Fantastic cappuccino, yummy scones and friendly service. Very clean and bright. Obviously has regular clientele and staff on first name terms with some. Small and intimate.
