Pineapples Island Fresh Cuisine

Really cool little spot in downtown Hilo, went for dinner and the meal was quite good and very reasonably priced. Cocktail flights are super fun!

Food and service is OK but wait time to be seated was wait to long even when when you can see many empty clean tables. High priced.

After searching online decided to stop here for lunch on a weekday. As a table for two we were sat promptly and the wait staff was very friendly. We both got the fish bowl, which was just okay. The fish was very mild and otherwise the bowl was nothing special, just rice and roasted veggies. The sauce on the side was quite good. The atmosphere is casual and the sides were down so it was open and airy. People had some fun looking cocktails. Service and atmosphere were great and I wanted to love our meal, however the flavor of our meal was bland and lacking.

We came here on a Friday evening and there was a bit of a wait but not too bad. The service was great, from the host to the wait staff. Food and drinks were excellent, well made and served up super quick. All in all it was a great experience all around.

I started feeling sick immediately after eating here. I think it was the tartar sauce because it arrived warm on my plate. The salad/slaw was also very room temperature so it could have been that if it was sitting unrefrigerated all day. This made me question the food handling practices here, so I strongly recommend against getting any raw seafood here. Maybe just don't come, or just stick to drinks. The service was great though! Very friendly and attentive server. The only silver lining...
