Legit bentos and spam musubi walk in and order to your hearts content Parking: Limited street parking, they warn don't idle your car out front
Great local carryout. Been coming here since I was a kid some 50 years ago. They still serve traditional local fare. So nice to come back and find some things are still the same.
Quick SummaryNice little gem in Hilo, when you want to get your fried food fix. Can call ahead to skip on the line, but the line moves pretty quickly. The staff are very friendly and patient. My favorites are their tempura, particularly their fish.Food- 5 starsReally solid batter on their tempura. Would highly recommend their tempura'd fish. Definitely balance it out with some pickles and musubi, but the highlight was the tempura fishService- 5 starsThe staff are very friendly and patient. They were awesomeBottom LineGood and fast tempura with excellent service. It's street parking only, but people come and go quickly.
This was our first time here it felt like a meat market where you order a la carte. For our lunch, we got shoyu chicken, cone sushi, and spam musubi. For our dinner, we got shoyu pork, hot dog, fried Korean chicken, and shrimp tempura. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our favorites ended up being shoyu chicken (the chicken was tangy and sweet) and the cone sushi (enjoyable to try a unique set of flavors). The staff were super friendly. Definitely important to know what you want to order before you get in line. We wish they were open longer, but don’t let the hours hold you back. It’s worth coming by in the morning to pick up your food for the day. We didn’t try the sides, but they appeared to look good. Parking available along the street.
