Bidra med feedbackI am not an early-care person, but the good news is that breakfast or desayuno is available in Spanish until noon in the Basque Country. So I discovered this bright but cozy bar, a little from the bush of the main roads, two minutes... from the tram stop Sancho El Sabio and near the beautiful cathedral and fell in love with it immediately. The owner Oskar, who has lived in Germany and Ireland for a while, always made me so welcome and his highest cappuccino or cafe con leche, as it is called here, including the coffee art of Oskar, a delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and a sandwich full of culinary quality, are now part of my daily routine. I can't even say what the sandwiches and other pinchos offer is my favorite, they all taste great. And guess it doesn't cost anything. A coffee of your choice, fresh juice and pincho are waiting for you for a 3€. What are you waiting for? If you want an authentic Basque cafe atmosphere, visit the cafeteria Samaniego. By the way, it is open all day from 7.15 am to 10 pm and offers more than just my breakfast. And you never know, maybe I see you there.
I stumbled over this bar on my walk through the city. It is right next to the school of modern art and had just opened. The warm light and the inner life let me fall in to have a coffee. The owner Oskar, who lived abroad, greeted me with a big smile and a nice chit chat. I stayed there at noon and had some of the typical Basque finger food called pinchos that simply devine. I finally treated myself with a piece of apple cake made by his mother, which was one of the best cakes I've ever eaten in my life. In any case, this place can recommend for an authentic light lunch, a coffee, a beautiful glass of wine or simply a beautiful chat.
