Tulu Seaside Grill - Virginia Beach

The food was tasty but not a healthy portion of food. The service is a mixed bag. Started off with a great server but we asked to be moved to another table and got a newer server who took forever +30 min) to serve a glass of wine. The food took over 30 min as well but once I said something to the manager, it was almost immediately brought out and accommodated our bill by half. Kudos to the manager for salvaging a bad experience. So to sum it up, we loved the new facility, started off with a great experience, started to take a terrible turn, and finally ended on a positive note. The staff was very friendly and if not for the delay it would have been a 5 star experience. Highly recommend going and going back in 3 weeks!

Nice little spot on the beach. I didn't know before I came that they were going to try and serve me healthy stuff. I'm not a big fake meat person, but the crab stuffed shrimp were pretty good. Wait staff were very nice. Difficult to find the place, because the person who told me about it did not say it was inside the Marriott.

Over priced for what we got. Just because you serve healthy food doesn't mean you should overcharge. The Mediterranean nachos was just pita chips with very little humas. Check out the two pics before and after we ate the dip. The salad that came with the jerk chicken sandwich was a cup at best. Each was $14. Nice view of the ocean.

We had an amazing meal at Tulu while visiting Virginia Beach. There were lots of options for dietary restrictions. We try to eat gluten free and there were many choices. For appetizers we had the Spicy mussels and the blackened tuna bites. For dinner we had the Shrimp and Grits and the Fish and Chips which was a great twist on the normal fried fish and French fries. It had baked fish over sweet potatoes logs. There were lots of great and unique cocktails to choose from as well.

Beautiful restaurant. A great spot in a convenient location. We split the blackened tuna bites and the vegan queso. Both were great, as was the blood orange margarita. The only thing that would have made it better were if the flies weren?t biting, but a storm was coming through, so I guess it comes with the territory.
