Bagel Baker - Virginia Beach

The Bagel Baker makes a REALLY good (my local favorite) bagel breakfast sandwich. The BB on broadway (sausage, egg, cheese a hash brown) on their everything bagel is my go-to. Who am I comparing their bagels to? I have had fresh bagels/bagel sandwiches from Long Island, NY, Westmont, NJ, NYC, locally Brooklyn Bagels in VB. This was my first time visiting The Bagel Baker and definitely won?t be the last. The associates were very friendly and helpful even though I went on a busy Saturday morning. The store was nice and clean and I loved all the old pictures of NYC. I got a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and can?t wait to try other items from the menus.

These are not NY-style bagels by any means. They?re way too doughy and lack the shiny crust and glaze of real NY-style bagels. I had a toasted egg bagel with herb cream cheese ? the bagel was still cold like it wasn?t toasted at all and if I closed my eyes I would?ve thought the cream cheese was plain flavour. What a great tasting everything bagel this AM. Can't wait to try their EGG Bengal next. I had the Times Square with premium turkey bacon egg and American cheese. A friend had the Long Island locks which is premium novolox playing cream cheese capers tomato and red onion...said it was fresh and delicious! The lunch sandwiches look awesome too. I think I'll try the Staten Island BLT: How high hardwood smoked bacon lettuce tomato and mayo...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The NY/NJ references should be removed because this is the farthest thing from a NY/NJ bagel. I would have low expectations in this area but this was a complete disappointment. My girlfriend ordered a salt bagel with cream cheese and tomato; and a plain bagel with Pork Roll, egg, and cheese. They made her an everything bagel with tomato, Pork Roll, cream cheese, egg, American cheese, and ketchup. How anyone thought that was edible was beyond me. Awful food, pretty bad service needless to say but I'll never go back.
