Romeo & Juliet's Restaurant

Had the most beautiful meal here tonight. Food cooked to perfection. Great friendly staff and atmosphere. Unfortunately couldn't fit in dessert, but will definitely be returning.

Was able to book into restaurant before closing 8.30pm to have dinner and the rump steak on offer was reasonable price wise and delicious after a long day travel. Excellent service and friendly. Breakfast was very good too.

The restaurant has a friendly and attentive staff that serves delicious and affordable meals in a nice atmosphere. The only downside was the loud conversations of other customers who were inconsiderate of those around them. It was difficult to have a normal conversation at our table due to their noise. This was not the fault of the management, but it was very irritating.

After frequenting this restaurant regularly over a period of 25 years, I am very sad to say the quality, the menu and the ownership of this, previously know “ fine dining” restaurant no longer exists. Has recently changed ownership by a southern company, the same chef is no longer and the menu leaves a lot to be desired. Very disappointing. We won’t be back or recommending this venue.

Honestly : I was a bit uncertain when I checked out this restaurant on the internet. After all, it is a restaurant associated with the motel in the same building. And motel restaurants are not my favorites, especially in Australia... It was conveniently located at a mile or so from my son's home, so we gave it a try. My son and his wife have been coming here on several occasions, and stated that the chef is from Poland. We were, at the end of our 3 week Australian holiday, ready to accept any cook, as long as he were Asian or European. We found Australian cuisine greasy, unhealthy, and lacking all subtlety. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere, once inside, is very nice and romantic. Service is flawless and attentive. The meals are well prepared, and tasty. This is one of the better places to eat out in Mackay.
