Bidra med feedbackI live in the area, and dining our hereabouts is a choice between Castilian, Castilian, and Castilian. We were delighted to find Estrella, a clean and classy restaurant with delightful and sometimes daring twists on local fare. The avocado and shrimp salad was fresh and delicious, and the chipirones en su tinta were perfectly done. I would advise against the berenjena (aubergine) starter, however it was a bit mushy, the only miss in a series of great plates. I recommend the pigeon, and the grilled fish of the day. ...and for dessert, the cream cheese ice cream!
Stayed in the hotel and had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. We were a large group and had many appetizers with each one better than the last. My main course was hake which was excellent and beautifully presented. And dessert was their home made ice cream! Everyone was so pleased with the food and we had been eating very well all across Spain. This restaurant stood out from the rest.
As we were spending the night here as part of a tour, both dinner and the next morning 's breakfast were included. Because of its rural location, this restaurant is primarily a destination or event center for many of the locals. The decor is funky fifties but the table setting was beautiful. Our prefix dinner (hake) included wine and was good but not extraordinary based on our experience with the exception of the queso helado , which was heavenly. Breakfast was hearty and included eggs if you desired.
