Bidra med feedbackWe 've been going to this restaurant for the past 14 years maybe once or twice a year, so I would like to offer a view about how its changed or not. And if it 's any good. Why do we keep going back? Really the food isn 't that great. It 's not bad. It 's definitely not 'authentic ' Thai food Western tastes wouldn 't be able to take that. The decor is typical faux oriental tat. And the people aren 't even particularly welcoming or 'authentic ' either for example the guy welcoming us this time wore an old pair of jeans and a tee shirt! So why keep going back there are lots of other restaurants even oriental ones nearby? Well, in our case it seems to have become a 'tradition ' of sorts. When the kids were little we went there because there was space for the 5 of us to sit comfortably and relax, and the kids liked it. They still do, and it 's really because of their nice memories of the place that they insist on us going back every now and then. They 're at university now, so whenever they come home they like to visit some old familiar places, and this is one of them. So, what 's new? Well, not much has changed really. The decor is pretty much the same. The fish that used to swim around under the entrance and in the outside pool have gone, which is a shame. The menu is pretty much the same a mix of (Westernised) Chinese, 'Thai ' oriental food basically. And it 's all 'OK '. Presentation is fine. It comes to the table quickly, and there 's enough of it just. This aspect of the place has changed though the quantity. Portions these days are much smaller. It 's now actually possible to eat 3 courses and still not feel full which is not good compared to the old days. So, prices are quite high for a 'Chinese ' meal and you don 't get a whole lot for your money. For example you don 't get any rice with your dishes, you need to order (and pay) rice extra. What you get is quite tasty though depending on what you order. There were 5 of us (parents and older kids) and we had: A selection of Dim Sum and Nems as starters to share (1 plate of each). Tasty. Caramel chicken. 'OK ' Chicken with pineapple. Very sweet, but OK. Duck Imperial. This was very nice the best of the main courses we had. Chicken in a pot. Supposed to be spicy but wasn 't. Tasted OK though. Green curry, with beef and in a pot. This was a little spicy and was quite nice. Cantonese rice. The quantity was very little. Barely enough for 1 person and not very well made. Noodles with vegetables. A little more in quantity than the rice. Was pretty cold when it arrived. Then we had 3 desserts to share: Fried Pineapple flambé. Was OK but tasted too strongly of the alcohol. Arbouse berries in syrup OK. Can 't remember the last one. Parents had 2 beers each, the kids drank water. So, we ate all that and still didn 't feel over full. This would have been impossible in previous visits. I think the reason is that the dishes are too juicy (or watery) there 's just not enough meat. The actual dishes/bowls are also smaller and they aren 't heaped either. We visited on Friday evening just after Christmas and there were a few other diners arriving while we were there, but it certainly wasn 't as full as other visits. So, what else? The price for all the food and drinks: €164. Not cheap given that we only had 2 starters and 3 desserts between the 5 of us. So, has it changed yes, but mostly by reducing the quantity of food. The quality is still the same average Westernised oriental. Do I recommend it? Not really. There are better Asian restaurants nearby and certainly better other types of restaurants.
I was looking forward to taste their curry but it was sooooo ordinary. Which assured me that my curry I make at home is much much better. My partner had a 'lacquered duck ' and the taste was so odd and somehow chemical that i doubt it was the way it should be...
In summer, indoor/outdoor eating with an unusual stone decor, koi pond and waterfall. Although it is located on the coastal road it is 2 minutes walk from the beach. Good Thai food.
This was a very nice Thai restaurant in Villeneuve Loubet. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. Try the salt and chilli frogs legs for starters mmmm place was spotless and plenty of space to sit outside. Was quite so maybe lacked atmosphere but food was excellent.
Restaurant less and less maintained, Less and less good. Moreover, we had company for dessert. a rat was swept up among us on the bench, which didn't even worry about the waiter!
