L ALCOVE - Villemur-sur-Tarn

Second visit which confirms L'Alocove as good value restaurant with a good menu. Fresh foods, great pate strarter and outstanding hi quality steaks, young friendly staff and great food at reasonable prices. Service was fine, not rushed and not slow. House wine (Fronton? was very...nice. All in all a very relaxing evening eating outside away from the traffic and town. Repas très bon, et service très bien.

Alcove is a large renovated farm, with large seating capacity both indoor and outdoor. As such they cater frequently for group and family events on the day of our visit, on a Saturday lunch part of the staff was busy preparing for an evening...wedding reception. We went for a table on the terrace, where only two other tables were already taken. We opted for the 3 course set menu Villemurien at 27.50 euro. As starter I took the house specialty, an individual foie gras jar, which was HUGE and delicious. Next was an excellent duck magret (duck breast), full size so again very generous in quantity, with excellent home made fries. Desserts were more anedoctical. However this generous display was ruined by the ridiculous waiting times we spent about 3h30 ', having to wait about an hour for each course ! This was aggravated by the at best very approximate service, which included mixed up orders that got badly resolved. Such a shame for an address that I would otherwise be very willing to put on my local top tables.

Came with my family here, and the terrace/garden is such a cool backyard, especially in the night! the staff is so friendly and good humor, nice music, and eating was delicious. some perfectly cooked meat and beautiful pommes! definitely recommend and come...back again

Agréable surprise par une carte variée ( préparation maison ) décors splendide ,personnelle très agréable et souriante accompagner par cette belle terrasse bien ombrager niveaux qualité prix resonable.Ne tarder plus à aller y découvrir cet différente saveur

Avec toujours un rapport qualité-prix excellent, vous pouvez avoir un nouveau cadre à chaque visite.Chaque coin de la terrasse est unique...Allez voir la petite salle à arcades et à petits carreaux...Mangez dans la grande salle spacieuse....A chaque visite, vous aurez l'impression d'aller dans un nouveau site.Alors, faites comme moi, changez chaque fois de restaurant !!
