Bidra med feedbackMy brother took me for my birthday dinner. The place has changed since we last came n he said the boiled shrimp were salty.
Disappointing, waited for boiled crabs but still didn't have any out, so we left. They no longer put snow crabs on the buffet.. buffet is no longer worth the price or the wait. Would rather go to Lagneau's in Lafayette.
Awesome, well made seafood buffet, with steak on the buffet as well. Well worth the price.
I will never spend another penny at this establishment. They open at 5p and by 6p they were out of crawfish. They were unable to keep food on the line. After we finished our meal. We asked for the dessert. We was told they were out of that as well. Spoke to the manger and asked why we were being charged full price when they were out of things. She stated it’s 2 for $30 we have food on the buffet. I was not charged $15 I was charged $21. I do not recommend this place at all. The only positive was the server was ver attentive and kept our drinks refilled amd the tables cleared of dirty plates.
2024 update: Went again in March 2024 for their crab extravaganza buffet. We arrived about 2 hours before opening and there was already a line at the door. This is the first time I've been since they remodeled the buffet area- it's a great improvement! The buffet is now one big line down the wall where kitchen staff can access from the backside without interference from guests on the front side. This keeps food coming out easier and results in less congestion. You will still see a long line for the shrimp/crab but it moves at a better pace than before. Staff did try to direct guests to go one direction down the buffet line, but this didn't work because different staff members said the opposite directions, so people just went where ever. Overall, the buffet remodel was a good improvement. So glad to have more space. 2023 review: Only been here twice, both times on a Saturday for the crab extravaganza buffet. Hours: wednesday-saturday, 5p-9p. Each night is a different special. Check their Facebook page or call to hear specials. Location: ville Platte, pretty desolate area. GPS will take you there. Private parking lot, but it fills up fast and gets crowded. Atmosphere: rustic, country vibe. Your typical cajun style restaurant in this area. Smelled of crawfish/boil. VERY CROWDED. The buffet is very confusing to navigate bc of the crowds and its a small area for the large amount of people rushing to get their plates before 1. The line gets too long and 2. Before the restaurant runs out (items available while supplies last). I really think this place needs to either expand or rethink their indoor layout at the buffet area. Even the kitchen staff struggles to get through to refill items. Service: friendly. Pretty attentive to drink refills and clearing table of dirty plates. Food: during our visit on a Saturday, they had: 3 different crabs, fried boiled shrimp, crawfish, mac cheese, fried and baked fish, potatoes corn, rice, shrimp etouffee, seafood meat pie, stuffed crab, fried frog legs, gumbo, corn nuggets, salad bar, desserts, etc. My favorite of everything was the crab legs boiled shrimp. Our least favorite part was the dessert options (only cookies, basic peach cobbler, over cooked rock hard brownies, and too sweet cake). Price: $43/person for adults. 9-12 yr olds $15, 4-8 yr olds $9, and under 4 yrs old was free. Drinks are an additional charge. Overall, it is good food but the insanely large crowd with a small buffet area is a set up for ridiculousness. If you aren't there when they open, you're going to be waiting for awhile (it's an expensive buffet, so people dining will take awhile). The best thing about this place is you're going to get your major seafood cravings all in one visit (crawfish, fish, shrimp, crab).
