Bidra med feedbackOne of the best restaurants in Ocean Beach Fore Island. Great food, great service. Must try the Burrito! Steak, chicken or shrimp Burrito, delicious black bean side.
We had the French Onion Soup and the Cajun Shrimp and it was delicious and the portions were good. Our waitress was amicable and knowledgeable. The reason I gave this review 3 stars is because of the SIZE of the soda. They gave me a glass that was maybe 8 oz. It looked like a thimble full. Fill that with ice to the top and you get about 4 oz of soda. That costs $4 at the Albatross. THATS A DOLLAR AN OUNCE. No free refills. Let me make a comparison. CJS across the street charged us $7 for a can of beer and a soda. My glass had to be 16 or 20 oz. Huge. So buyer beware if you order a soda at the Albatross for you or all your kids. You’ll get your drop for $4 and NO FREE REFILLS. The owner of the Albatross shouldn’t be such a cheap sake over something as silly as soda.
Very pub looking place with a lot of regulars. Food was reasonably priced all of their salads especially the salad specials are exceptional. My husband opted for the Poké bowl and I had that quinoa salad with grilled chicken. Both were tremendous and reasonably priced. Service is always great and I make a point of eating here anytime I am in Ocean Beach.
Ordered 2 salads and 2 entrees. When I called to tell them one of the salads was missing ingredients they called me back three times to ask questions then told me there were not replacing the salad. A $100 meal to go that we added a 15% tip to. Silly to make a customer unhappy over the cost of a salad!!
Albatross doesn't take reservations, so we went on the early side and had no problem getting a table on Julyv4. The grilled salmon was perfectly prepared and among the best we've had comparable to high end restaurants. The hot honey chicken sandwich special was crispy and flavorful and should join the regular menu. Finally, the grilled chicken caesar was tender and nicely dressed. We will definitely return on our next trip to Fire Island.
