Everything on the menu sounded great but you can't go past the local specialities, pizoccheri, sciat, polenta and sausages , bresola etc and the local wines belissimo !
We took the train over the Alps from Chur Switzerland and arrived in Tirano. A short taxi ride to us to the B&B Contrada Beltramelli. The owner came out and told us not to worry about the taxi fare. He was very warm and friendly and treated us like royalty. We walked into the hundreds of years old cobblestone courtyard to find it surrounded by for floors of rustic wood railing from which dried cobs of corn hung. It was like we had travelled back in time hundreds of years. Our room had big old wooden beams across the ceiling and was an absolute delight, steeped in old artifacts hanging from the walls. We were enchanted. The owner and staff were simply the most hospitable people we encountered in our three week vacation. The food in their restaurant was delicious and the attention to every detail was touching. This hotel stay with be fondly remembered as one of the most special places that we've stayed in during our years of travel.
Let’s start immediately saying that it’s worth trying it, I tried it at lunch. garbato service is very friendly, great choice among the different menus. excellent raw materials. clean the bathroom. sin for the lack of a covid verification procedure and for the low-quality cutter (pizzeria) and paper napkin of poor quality. price ratio quality quantity sufficient
We stayed for three nights at the contrada and for three nights below we had dinner at the restaurant with our two dogs. the wonderful frame is only a positive aspect of a more than positive experience, since we found ourselves in front of a very varied menu, composed in part by dishes of the Valtellina tradition, all made with fresh ingredients. the chef and all the staff have never made us regret the choice to dine in this place. wine paper at the height of the excellent cuisine, value for money very good.
