El Casco Art Hotel Restaurant

We were not here, but at one of our evenings in Bariloche. Beautiful hotel or at least the public areas. Great view over the lake with magnificent gardens. The food was delicious, the wine list comprehensive and the service was faultless. This will probably be a hotel destination for us when we return to Bariloche, which has more to do than our three days allowed. This hotel is obviously also the place to stay when you arrive in the winter ski season. Very exquisite make a visit.

The food is very good. It's a bit expensive, but it's reasonable price and overall it's worth it. I asked for a medallion of the Argentine “Lomo” and it was very delicious. We asked “Mollejas” as starters and they were also very good....Others ordered “trucha patagónica” and they claimed it was the best in Bariloche. Overall really good, highly recommended.

El Casco is located in El Casco Art Hotel, as you can imagine, surrounded by wonderful art, everywhere you see. The cook is female and has a wonderful eye for art in the presentation of the food. The menu is small...but offers very different options; Duck, pasta, steak and trout. We started with the keviche, which was artistically presented; almost like a deconstructed shellball. Just beautiful and very tasteful. We had a different main course (see above) and all very enjoyed it. You have a small but well cured wine list. The service was good. Note that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday every week. You probably don't need a reservation if you dine before 22:00, as this is the earliest that most Argentinians eat.

We ate here some time while we stay at the hotel. The food was very good; the service was impeccable; and the view of the lake through the garden is great. We ate both in the restaurant and in the lounge. Both are filled with... outstanding original art.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant during a tour of South America with Tauck. Our lunch was very good, service also very good. The dining room is like a museum with beautiful pieces of original art and the grounds are also very beautiful.
