Casa Venceslau - Vila do Conde

This place is a one of the best restaurants I have encountered in Portugal so far. The restaurant was packed when I got there around noon. I ordered the lunch special. $13.68 for meat with pasta, 1/2 bottle of house wine, glass of red Porto, and glass of white Porto. All of it was delicious! White Porto was as good as ice wine or better, however it cost less than one fifth of decent quality ice wines. If you are in the area, give this restaurant a try. You won't regret it.

I was expecting a standard Portuguese restaurant (they also run some hotel rooms above the restaurant) but instead I found a great one. Food was really delicious and there were several typical dishes options. Prices were very, very good for the quality of the products and service. It is located a bit far away from the center, but it's worth the walking. Although the entrance is through the National Road, inside you don't feel the traffic noise. I saw that staff was really friendly for tourist (I'm a local) on other tables, as they were nice for me as well. Service was a bit slow, but nothing to complaint about. For sure one of the best places to eat in Vila do Conde.

We only managed to go to Venceslau because our friend lives in Portugal. She knows the locals. It's a discreet entrance, looks like you're going into someones house. It's owned by a family which are the waiters and the cooks. The food is exceptionally delicious and the owners are really friendly. It's like going to a relatives /friends for dinner . If you're around north Portugal is worth a try !

Adoramos. A broca é divina. o vitela assado e a costela deliciosa. sobremesas são realmente caseiras, eu recomendo cheesecake e pudim. o serviço é muito amigável e rápido. É para voltar.

I stayed one night at Casa Venceslau which was too short! I had a warm welcome from Tiago, the host who was attentive to all my requests. The room was just as I expected clean and comfortable with a relaxing atmosphere, tastefully decorated with lovely detail. The shower was wonderful plenty of hot water in a spacious, modern bathroom. I couldn’t ask for more for such a modest price.
