This part of the plaza has multiple empanada (and other local food) stalls. This is a must-try if you’re on a food trip.

Here's the best place to try out that famous Vigan Empanada. Prepare to wait in line though as there are a lot of local and tourist diners who'd want to get a taste of this Vigan delicacy. Aside from that you should also be aware that this is an open air eatery, meaning there are no airconditioning system. Expect smoke, noisy and all that. Regardless, you should still try visiting this place and ordering the famous Vigan Empanada here.

It has probably been more than 20 years since I last visited this place. I remember just approaching one of the sellers behind the church seated in their makeshift stand, ordering an empanada, and eating while standing up. Now, there is already a dedicated area behind the church with roof and chairs and tables. The vendors have already increased too aside from expanding their menu. Aside from empanadas, you can already order rice, bbq and other viands. Cheap and delicious place to eat here in Vigan.

One star rating because we didn't find it when we were in Vigan 17th June 2019. We've been craving for Empanadas all day and it was frustrating not finding it. I believe that this place might just be a temporary stall.
