Weinbar-Zum finsteren Stern - Vienna

The reviews on tripadvisor are a little mysterious to me. the restaurant is small, beautifully renovated and overheated in winter. the menu was quite short and rather strange. they expect local cuisine and are faced with Mediterranean options. the value...for money is terrible, not so much because the prices are high, but because what you get is a sweat. carrot salad is a few grated carrots with olive oil, vinegar and granat apple. I wouldn't dare to serve the house, even if in a hurry. the wine menu is disappointing and the waiter clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. a great disappointment.

We visited this place only from a background - it was 23:00 and it was the only place to eat at this time in the center in hown. we are grateful for the service, it was perfect, but eating wasn't good at...all we ordered duck with ekkus and pasta with lamb, and we regretted eating because it wasn't worth it.

I am a foodie, and I really do not understand the rave reviews about this place. Food was OK, not very remarkable. Service was very, very slow despite the restaurant being 3/4 empty. I really think you can spend your food money elsewhere and do...much better.

A little difficult to find but worth a visit. Almost no tourists. Very involved staff cook delicate food.

This is a charming restaurant on a quiet courtyard in old Vienna away from the tourist area. Being able to eat outside in Vienna is a real plus because most restaurants still allow smoking. We selected an excellent Austrian Riesling from a solid and well...priced wine list. Dishes highlighed the freshest local seasonal ingredients. We would go back in a heartbeat. Service is relaxed, not formal so don't go here if you are in a rush. It is reasonably priced especially for the quality and preparation of the food.
