Johnnie Mae's Seafood Grille - Vidalia

Friendly service great food I gave it four stars only because we did not get all that we ordered . Hush puppies and slaw were supposed to come with my shrimp ,when the waitress brought my shrimp and Fries she said the hushpuppies will be out in a minute and I said okay and we never got them. Granted we had plenty. We got the sampler platter as an appetizer and it was wonderful!

Firstly, the service was amazing. Our waitress was fabulous. It's also hard to find an excellent **** Mary anyway, but this place has it going on. They use Zing Zang, the best **** mix ever! The decor is interesting, and I really like the light fixtures. Now, the food needs some help. My chicken tenders were nicely cooked. I didn't particularly care for the herb flavor breadcrumb crust. I would've preferred a regular egg/milk wash and flour dredge, but that's just me. After a while, the herb taste became very one-note and masked the chicken flavor. The oysters were horrifying and tasted absolutely terrible. The catfish had the belly still on it, which neither of us likes. The fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies were okay. So, good service but bad food.

Service was great, staff was very very friendly, had good conversations with our server and other staff members and wasn’t rushed thru dinner which my family enjoyed. A few dishes were overcooked but didn’t want to be rude, overall had a great time and would go back when I’m in town.

I found my burrito to be very tasty. However, the hash browns were overcooked and too crunchy for my taste. The pancakes were enormous, taking up the entire plate, and my dining companion ordered three of them. She ended up bringing most of hers home because she got full after eating just half. I thought they were a bit heavy, but it was still an enjoyable breakfast overall, along with the nice ambiance of the place.

You have to try the Americana Burger! Seriously, you won't regret it. The combination of the fried egg, bacon, and house sauce is incredible! I absolutely love this place. They also serve delicious fried catfish!
