Sushi Matsuri - Victoria

A welcoming restaurant with a skilled sushi chef, friendly staff and an amazing menu. The delicious nigiri sushi, agedashi tofu (best I've found anywhere), poke bowls and tuna tataki are my favourites, along with the utterly addictive Korean dishes (dakgangjeong, bibimbap, chirashi sushi). But the best thing for me is the ambiance the staff have enormous warmth and enthusiasm, and it makes every visit a pleasure. This truly feels like a home away from home!

A great small and intimate place, which makes it perfect for a neighborhood like James Bay. The service was polite, friendly and attentive. Food was simple yet delicious. My wife and I have been coming here for the occasional lunch and dinner over the years it has been opened, and it never disappoints us.

I don't write a lot of reviews for restaurants but I had to for sushi matsuri. Cute small Japanese restaurant. Their food is always delicious consistently. Rice isn't overpowered with vinegar which is hard to find in Victoria. Very friendly staff.

Best prawn tempura ive had. First time i ever bought the same dish at one sitting. The sushi chicken teriyaki and gyoza were fantastic. Great service.
