Bidra med feedbackI visited Santouka, but the line was long as usual. Not wanting to wait, I decided to try another option and came across Chui for the first time. The decor was impressive, a good sign by the designer. The crowd was mostly Korean and young, all in their twenties. The techno music was loud, which may not be ideal for a romantic evening. Korean restaurants typically offer small side dishes with your meal. While none of them stood out to me, the Kimchee I ordered was very good. I enjoy pork belly with ramen, so I tried the braised pig belly, expecting it to be more like bogogi than roasted pork. The taste was okay and the dipping sauce was delicious, but it was too fatty. The Korean salad and rice cake were both excellent. The service was great, with the staff making an effort to please. I would return for the service alone, but the restaurant is not yet a favorite on my list.
Order the pork cutlet with curry and cheese through Skip the Dishes. The only time it wasn't great was when the curry sauce was on the pork during takeout.
I have dined at this restaurant twice. The food is just average for the price, not very flavorful, and the service is awkward.
This is a cheap filler placeIt's one of the few underrated cheap eats in the city which is meant more as fuel than quality.
I was heading to Santouka, but the line-up as usual was lengthy. As I didn't feel like waiting, i turned around and started heading to one of my other options. I saw Chui for the first time and was attracted by the decor, very well done by the designer. The crowd was exclusively Korean, which for me is usually a good sign: they were also very young, all in their twenties. This translated into some pretty loud techno music, which doesn't bother me, but definitely removes the restaurant from the older looking for a romantic evening crowd. Korean restaurants always provide some small accompaniments for your dinner. None of mine impressed, however I ordered a side of Kimchee and it was very good. I love pork belly with ramen so I decided to try the braised pork belly, thinking that it would be more like bulgogi than roast pork. Flavour-wise it was ok and the dipping sauce was tasty, but it was way too fatty. The Korean salad and the rice cakes were both very good. Service was really good, and the staff were really trying to please. It is for this reason alone that I would venture back, but this restaurant is not yet on my "must go to" list quite yet.
