It's an old pizza hut repurposed 3 or 4 times. Menu is like the original awesome Southside location. Best middle Eastern food in town.... PLUS the most popular breakfast spot in Hoover/Vestavia. Order the Sampler for two. This is one of the best meals in Bham, and a great value. Two people can NOT finish this meal. Always nice folks.

Always good food. Usually packed in the mornings but they still get you seated and your food out to you quickly. Parking is not great.

I tried again, this time for dinner. The dinner menu is based on Mediterranean cuisine and lists many vegetarian options (I believe some if not lost are vegan). The waiter was very attentive and helpful. The Falafel plate came with a good portion of tahini that was thick, a simple and very fresh green salad, tasty french fries, and plenty of pita bread. The Falafel was freshly made and wonderfully crispy, alas, two of th six falafels were undercooked. All in all a good choice for Mediterranean food in Hoover but nothing that would justify a trip into the burbs. 2018 Review: I am on the fence with my rating. I went for lunch but ended up ordering from the breakfast menu. The hash browns and eggs were very well prepared, the waitress professional, the view nice, and the interior design gives it a classic feel. Why not more stars? I saw the name Makarios and immediately dreamed of grape leaves, eggplant rolls, and falafel. I was hoping for a nice variety of Mediterranean dishes but instead arrived in a Meat and 3. Nothing wrong with that southern standard but the vegetarian option was limited to a 4 veggie plate and it takes a while before I trust such place to cook without the ham bone.

Picked up breakfast from here this morning and it’s a new favorite spot. Healthy portion of eggs and hashbrowns, loved having options for turkey sausage and bacon. Even grilled chicken with the “Which Came First” combo. Pancakes are huge and fluffy. Fast service too. I called my order in and was picking it up within 10 mins.

Food was delicious and service was great. I had the Roast Beef, creamed potatoes, speckled Butterbean, and Apple Cobbler. The apple cobbler was SO yummy!
