Le Repaire - Vernègues

This little crêperie LE REPÈRE on top of the hill in a little village called vernegues in provence has the most charming view most delicious food and a small stafff wz the biggest heart! It is a homely place for families a romantic place for couples and even a good environment for business! we discovered Le repère when we moved south and it has become our ritual! i highly recommend this place

You have to check that it’s open before going we’ve been caught out several times before. Went up for a sunset dinner on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was busy but we got a space Good crepes, tasty salads, many ice cream flavours. More affordable than many of the local restaurants.

You drive up the narrow lane, and then you climb a bit more, when the road gets so narrow you feel it can go no further keep climbing. At the top nestled amongst the ruins is this place. Great, actually astounding views. A tiny little garden setting. The menu is dominated by egg based items, crepes and omelettes but perfect for kids. I have never seen a larger variety of omelettes and crepes. But if your kids are particularly well behaved the glacé are pretty stunning as well. Top gear would recommend the drive up here but i’ll recommend the location and the food.

Right next to the ruins of old Vernegues, which was destroyed in the 1909 earthquake, this family owned restaurant offers and outstanding selection of crepes, salads and ice creams for lunch and dinner. while the meals are light in character, they more than compensate with their quality. A nice selection of wines and a beautiful view from the terrace make this a favourite spot for many locals aand the odd tourist who got lost. we have visited this gem every year for the last fifteen and will continue to do so.
