Koba Sushi - Ventura

This place is a local treasure. I tried 3 sushi places in Ventura before going to Koba. Koba is my absolute favorite, without a close second. I now go weekly. The rice is perfectly flavored and cooked. The fish is high quality and generously portioned. Nothing is smothered in sauce. I have not been to Japan, but imagine this is a genuine representation of an excellent sushi place. I think it is affordable compared to other places, even though it is much better. I’d say even underpriced given the exceptional quality of the food and service. The people are really friendly as well. It is a small place. I always eat at the sushi bar, but there are also a few tables. It feels more like dining at someone’s home. I should have written this sooner, because they deserve your business and you deserve their service but I was hesitant to give up a secret because then it might get too busy given it is a small place! haha Thank you for the amazing dining experience. You all are the best!

Amazing sushi place! The hours are awful. Literally open 2.5 hours 4 days a week. Worse than bank hours. If you manage to slip in the lightning fast window it's actually open, you won't be disappointed.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. If i could give them a Michelin star I would.

Hands down the very best sushi in Ventura and likely Oxnard. We have pretty much tried them all. Super fresh fish, you can taste the difference. Wonderful, professional service. Wonderful ambiance as well.
