Bidra med feedbackHad one nice evening out by the Canalazzo. However, ever since, I have failed to get them to confirm a reservation. Emailing, calling, even going round there in person and leaving a card and a message at reception ... all of these things have failed to attract their attention. It has been quite extraordinary. I can see that the restaurant is not busy, so I am mystified. I speak Italian and live a few hundred meters away. I could be regular guest if only treated with courtesy. In the end, one shouldn't need to struggle to book a table. Instead, I now dine regularly at a place nearby where they seem to appreciate local customers.
The food is perfect, nicely done, the service is perfect and the price is ok for this quality. the restaurant is located in a very nice hotel by the grand canal outside of the main toursistic area which is good.
We got married in Venice and chose this restaurant for our intimate wedding lunch due to its good reviews and its location, right on the Grand Canal. I booked weeks in advance and was required to provide my credit card details to secure the booking. When we arrived, the waiter didn’t seem to be expecting us, but feigned knowledge of the booking. We were not told that they were only serving a set lunch menu rather than a la carte, so choices were rather limited. My husband I both chose fish for our main course his was cooked, mine was not. When I pointed this out and asked for a replacement, the waiter took it away and apologised. The Head Waiter then came out and insisted that mine was cooked it was not. I refused it and eventually they brought me an alternative meal which I ate long after my guests had finished theirs. We were given free coffees but, given that this was a special occasion and that they were not even very busy, the quality of the food and service was extremely disappointing. I could have chosen any other restaurant in Venice for my wedding lunch; I chose l’Alcova, but they didn’t seem to care. This spoilt what should have been a very special occasion.
Ingresso solo per una convention. palazzo molto bello, terrazza sul grande canale per pranzo, prezzi proibitivi per mortali ordinari.
Un palazzo storico stupendo, mantenuto in modo eccelso! Consigliatissimo
