Al Teatro Coldoni - VENEZIA

I understand that the food being prepped and the service from the waiter is separate, however, our waiter was so abrasive from the moment we sat down that it was hard to differentiate the two. This restaurant only cares about its turnover — the way they rush you to the table, clean plates before you’re even done the dish. The waiter we had was wearing glasses. He was inconsiderate of a severe shellfish allergy. When informed, our waiter said, “No. We can’t do that. It’s not my responsibility if something happens.” He said it so loudly that the neighbouring tables could hear. It was awkward and we sat in silence debating whether or not we should leave. We decided to stay in hopes that the food was good. Nope. The 30 minutes we were there for, the risotto tasted like minute rice, the calzone looked like it was made at 8am and reheated. Instead of apologizing at the end of the meal, he tried to excuse it by saying, “It was too loud, people were yelling for my name back and forth. I didn’t realize I was being rude but I guess it’s always my fault.” When he said this, we realized that this was not the first time someone had told him about his demeanour. Please do not go here if you’re wanting “Italian/Venetian food” or if you have allergies — other restaurants in the area have a limited menu and have accommodated us or made sure to tell the kitchen about our food restrictions.

We visited venice for a week and found this excellent restaurant on day 2. We had left a previous review but haven't been able to see it so felt it would be a shame not to have a review after our fantastic experience. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the food every night was excellent, never needing to add salt and pepper as the food was seasoned correctly. There was never any pushy attempts to upsell, they just made sure the customer was always happy. We will definitely return here again when we come back to venice. By luck, our flight back to the UK was cancelled, and so we had an extra night to enjoy thus restaurant and all the staff.

Came here the night before and the muscles and clams were super delicious so came back again. This time I had the seafood risotto which did not disappoint. The service was top notch too.

Very kind staff, but the mixed dish of fish is beyond my budget, instead for other good dishes.

You eat well I will return first of fish felt they were fresh day and to finish a fish fry all very liked
