A REAL farmhouse! They even have a mill to make various flours, a stable, a sheepfold, a pigsty and a chicken coop. The food is very good, traditional: self produced salami, rice cake with asparagus, pansoti, ravioli, roast rabbit, Italian style mixed fry and a nice selection of desserts (plus other things I can't remember , wine, coffee and brandy. The WHOLE 25€. And all very good! I liked best the pansoti, the roast and the panna cotta with rose syrup. Only flaw: it's really far! ;
We went here for both of our daughter's baptismal meals and the atmosphere is fantastic, food wonderful and inexpensive.... It is out of the way in the hills but there is enough parking and worth the drive. There are a lot of stairs and a steep hill to get into it so if you are in a wheelchair, not the place for you.
A 3.5 hour marathon of some of the best Ligurian dishes made with love and nearly completely produced by Luigiano and Orietta in and around Toceto. From the pigs they raise for the salume down to the wheat that they grind into the flour used in their exquisite pasta and bread. While the amount of food is impressive, the pace of the meal makes sure that you never get too full too soon : A good thing when there are so many lovely plates. The best time to visit would be a weekend afternoon in the early/late summer as the terrace catches the sun. Pro tip: make a reservation for lunch so you have a the rest of the afternoon to digest. For those searching for the authentic Ligurian meal, this place is well worth the trek inland from the coast. As my mother in law said, you run out of superlatives trying to describe it. If you don't speak Italian bring your dictionary and smile lots you'll be fine. ;
Great place ... varied and truly quality cuisine. Already with the appetizers they had conquered me. The bread brought to the table still warm, what can I say, a marvel! Excellent and abundant first and second courses. Definitely to be repeated!
