Bidra med feedbackGreat to visit for a meal when you are in Varanasi.
This small and cozy restaurant in Benares offers delicious home-style vegan and vegetarian meals. While some vegan options are not labeled on the menu, the staff is willing to accommodate by using oil instead of ghee. Most dishes can be made vegan, although there are some milk dishes that cannot be altered. The food is easy to eat and hygienic, making it a standout choice in Benares.
The fare at this restaurant is described as simple and straightforward. While it may not be my top choice, it wasn't bad at all! I opted for the Special Thali, which included a variety of vegetables (such as green beans, carrots, potatoes, and cauliflower), rice, Dal, roti, pickle, butter, Raita, salad, a sweet dish, and Papad. It made for a satisfying meal. I am giving it 3 stars instead of two because the owner kindly went out of their way to prepare masala chai for me, even though it wasn't on the menu. That was a nice touch! Overall, a decent lunch experience.
I recently tried the Special Thali at this restaurant and found it to be a simple and satisfying meal. The Thali included a variety of dishes such as sabzi (green beans, carrots, potato, and cauliflower), rice, dal, roti, pickle, butter paneer, raita, salad, a sweet treat, and papad. It was a filling lunch and I would give it 3 stars instead of two because the owner took the extra step to make me masala chai, even though it's not on the menu. Overall, it was a nice experience and I enjoyed my meal. I would consider returning in the future.
This restaurant in Benares offers a small and cozy atmosphere to enjoy some delicious home-style vegan/vegetarian meals. While they do have some vegan options on the menu that aren't labeled as such, you can always request them to use oil instead of ghee to make most dishes vegan. However, some dairy-based dishes are not able to be made vegan at the moment. The highlight of dining here is that the food is easy on the stomach and served in a hygienic manner, which is quite impressive for Benares.
