Bidra med feedbackChez Woody is close to another restaurant, frequented by my daughter and son in law, who live on the outskirts of Vannes. We come to stay often, and booked at Chez Woody for a family evening out grandparents, parents, and grandsons (20, 17 and 12). We felt the ambience was good, and the decor excellent. A romantic evening, or a family celebration, would find the surroundings and atmosphere convivial. The staff were friendly, and service prompt, whilst unhurried. My beer was good, as were the other drinks. The starters were a success, and my mussels (stuffed with delicious herbs) were wonderful. The main course was a very mixed affair. My undercooked (sorry, I’m English, but did ask for medium/well done) entrecôte steak had a substantial amount of fat and gristle, and my grandson’s fillet steak was over cooked, and tiny. My daughter, who rarely speaks ill of anyone or anything, felt her fish was the cause of stomach ache during the night. But wait two grandsons had burgers, and they were excellent, and greatly enjoyed. Likewise, the sundaes that some had for dessert. A mixed evening, and I doubt the family will repeat it, especially as there is that other place close by.
What a pretentious establishment. We dropped in for lunch to this restaurant. We wanted to sit in the outside terrace. There were many tables to choose from but were told that we couldn 't and had to speak to someone inside the restaurant. We were immediately asked Had we booked a table . When we said we hadn 't there was a lot of fussing and tut tutting while the individual looked at his iPad to see if he could fit us in. After what seemed a very long time we were eventually told that there was a table for us. We were shown to one of the many empty tables on the terrace. During and after our meal, hardly any of the empty tables were occupied. We were wondering what all the fuss was about. No need for this sort of carry on. We had two salads, costing €15 each. Mostly made up of leaves. The restaurant is in a nice setting.
Been here before and the food is good. Guess business must be good too. On last visit we found an air of complacency as to whether we stayed or left without eating.
Really attentive staff. Good range of tapas. Very generous portions, and good value for money. Well presented, fresh food.
We read about this place and were not disappointed... great ambiance, energy and the interior design is worth a visit! The team were efficient and the food was very tasty. Only comment: they kindly found us a table as soon as they opened for the evening..... we had been trying to call to reserve earlier in the day with no one picking up. If in Vannes, check this place out. Spent 80 euros for the two of us.
