Bidra med feedbackFive years in this location. The chef trained at Tojo's. then set up with his wife here. They are a perfect pair. Lease us up soon so follow them wherever.
Had lunch here the other day. The food had good taste and was authentic tasting. However the service is not attentive at all. The for two of us with tip and tax was $43, which I think is high for a moderate lunch.
It's a lovely little place that serves up beautifully prepared sushi. Take out orders are easy and of great value. Service is friendly and very welcoming. It's actually a great place to stop on your way to the airport!
Great little sushi place in Kerrisdale! The quality is excellent and the sushi authentic! I've been multiple times with friends and each time we go, we're never disappointed. I would rather come here than some of the other Japanese restaurants who have high prices for small portions.
I've got to say, the name "Tokyo Thyme" conjures all the wrong connotations, but this place is not only the best in Kerrisdale it's worth a special trip. (I always try to eat here when I'm bringing someone back from the airport.)the owner/chefs are a couple. The husband, Kinta, is actually Mexican. He worked for years at Tojo's Restaurant, the very best in North America, and his sushi is inventive, delicious and beautiful to look at. His wife is the reason he left Tojo's. She's the CEO of the operation and the mistress of the wonderful cooked dishes. The situation they're in is odd. They can't have a liquor license because they're on the ground floor of a condo and the strata council doesn't want them there. They intended a coffee house. They are fools. Make your way to Kerrisdale before they wise up and go somewhere where the landlord appreciates them.
