Bidra med feedbackDelightful dinner after show Haven't been since before the pandemic, so after attending a matinee show went for an early dinner with a friend for her birthday. The service was excellent and the food selection and quality was superb. Definitely going back soon to try some additional items.
We come here once or twice a year, every time we come to Vancouver since we found it about 15 years ago. Always fantastic food and service. Our favourite dish is the fettuccine with shaved black truffles. A very simple olive oil sauce let’s the pasta and black truffles speak. And they are not cheap on the truffles. They have a fantastic wine list. Our waitress Cristina who we’ve had quite a few times was wonderful as always. She is very personable yet very efficient.
We came here last weekend at the recommendation of a friend. We had an exquisite evening from the beginning to end. There were 4 of us. We ordered wine, appetizers, their specials and desserts, coffee and port. Everything was amazing. Service was attentive and just right. The restaurant was busy but cozy. Highly recommend this place.
First of all, the food and service was great. Foie gras sauce was a little bit sweet and paired with jam, which nicely made the liver taste not as strong. The pasta vongole had fresh clams and parsley, super flavorful. We have also had a delicious veal special with a mini quiche $62 I think? and a lamb shank with risotto. Salad, however, was rather small and simple for $19, and I think the focaccia was a better deal and tastier. Seeing them both on the table made me wish I had not ordered the salad. Crème brûlée was one of the best I have ever had, which was so creamy almost like caramel. I liked the warm almond cake with gelato as well but not as much. Besides food, I liked the overall ambiance which felt like a welcoming and warm house with style. And it was not super dark so you could take photos for food. Also liked they provided hand towels instead of onetime use paper towel in the bathroom.
First visit to this restaurant this past weekend and I was extremely pleased with the overall experience. The restaurant itself feels very tucked away on a relatively quiet part of Hamilton street. Located inside a renovated heritage house, the overall ambience is quite charming and cozy. While the tables are quite close together, it was still a fairly peaceful, intimate experience. That said, if you do have some loud neighbours, you might take notice, although I 'm sure the staff would be comfortable asking people to keep the volume down. On the subject of staff, I found the service to be friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and speedy. I don 't think I had to wait more than 10 minutes before my first course arrived, and the drinks were even faster than that. For anyone who is a fan of whisky based cocktails, their black bourbon manhattan is worth a try. The food here was excellent. Pasta is most certainly the specialty here, and my partner and I were huge fans of the short rib ravioli and grilled chicken fettucine dishes. Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours were just outstanding. We were also big fans of the wagyu carpaccio that we got as a starter, and our 'secondi ' dish halibut and prawns served with a lobster reduction was also very tasty, although, when I go back, I would probably just go with a third pasta dish. For drinks, the one appetizer, the two pastas, and the main, the bill came out to a little over $200 for two people. Not super cheap, but also not crazy, particularly if you 're in the market for a nicer dining experience. You will want to make a reservation. One thing to note finding parking around here is NOT easy, as you 're right by BC Place stadium and numerous other popular venues. There is underground parking just up the road, and technically there is a lot across from the restaurant, although it 's shared with a hotel and was full when I went last Saturday, so be sure to leave yourself some time.
